Per Misc Docket No. 24-9047, the Texas Supreme Court has set the fees for the Business Court, requiring a $2500 filing fee. The fee to remove a case is also $2500.
While this filing fee is markedly higher than the fee for a civil action in state district court (fifty times as high in some cases), it is comparable with filing fees in other business courts and arbitrations. The Legislature has required that the Business Court be self-funding, and thus, the filing fee covers the cost of the court's administration.
Additional fees include $50 for motions and a jury fee, to be determined by the Business Court, to cover the cost of summoning a jury in case
of a trial.
